Dr. Aravinda Thiagalingam
Dr Aravinda Thiagalingam is currently a staff specialist cardiologist in Westmead Hospital and Director of Echocardiography for the Central and Eastern Clusters of Sydney West Area Health Service.
He completed his Medical degree and basic physician training at Wellington Hospital/Otago University and his advanced training in Cardiology in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He performed his PhD research in cardiac electrophysiology in Westmead Hospital under the supervision of Professor David Ross and Associate Professor Pramesh Kovoor.
He was then awarded the Neil Hamilton Fairley/ Ralph Reader NHMRC/NHF overseas fellowship to perform post doctoral research in Cardiac Imaging and Cardiac Electrophysiology in Massachusetts General Hospital/ Harvard Medical School.
He has clinical and research in Cardiac electrophysiology, Cardiac imaging and primary prevention of heart disease.
