Dr. Neil Sharma
Neil Sharma is a staff specialist ophthalmologist at Westmead Hospital.
Neil graduated from medicine with honours from the University of New South Wales in 2003. He was awarded the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology undergraduate Prize and Medal. He also has graduated with a Masters of Public Health from UNSW.
He completed his internship and residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and then undertook advanced ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital. He completed a fellowship in ophthalmology at Macquarie University Hospital and the Australian School of Advanced Medicine. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology, and a member of the European Society of Retina Specialists.
He is currently near completion of a Masters of Medicine in Refractive Surgery at the University of Sydney. Neil has a strong interest in research, and has published 23 articles in the peer-reviewed literature to date, and is a journal reviewer. He has presented at numerous local, national and international ophthalmology conferences. He is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney, and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Wollongong.
