Dr. Jeremy Hsu

Dr Jeremy Hsu graduated in 2002 from the University of Sydney with Honours. He completed internship and basic surgical training at Royal North Shore Hospital. Advanced surgical training in general surgery was completed at Westmead and Nepean Hospitals. He obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010. Between 2010 and 2012, two subspecialty fellowships were undertaken. A year was spent in Seattle, USA at Harborview Medical Centre/University of Washington, completing a trauma/surgical critical care fellowship. Following this, a breast cancer surgery fellowship was completed at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute.

He currently divides his time at Westmead Hospital between trauma/emergency general surgery and breast cancer surgery. He is the Director of Trauma and holds a clinical academic appointment with the University of Sydney.

Having trained at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute, Dr Hsu is a firm believer in comprehensive, multi-disciplinary cancer care. He also practices oncoplastic techniques including breast reshaping, therapeutic mastopexy, reduction mammoplasty, and prosthetic reconstruction, as part of breast cancer surgery.

Although subspecializing in breast surgery, Dr Hsu maintains an interest in general surgery including biliary disease, hernias, etc

Dr Hsu is actively involved in teaching medical students and surgical trainees. His research interests lie in clinical outcome studies both in trauma/emergency surgery and breast cancer surgery.
